A Passion for Performance

At Lucky Run Ranch, competitive reining is at the heart of our breeding and training program, and we have dedicated our careers to promoting this unique discipline.

Owned by Ann and Dan McGregor, Lucky Run Ranch is Idaho’s premier equine facility. With the largest privately-owned arena in the state, Lucky Run is an unparalleled place to ride and train your horse.

Our History

Originally known as Elevage De Boise, Lucky Run Ranch was established in 2004 with the goal of breeding Arabian and half-Arabian performance horses for the reining discipline. Our French name, which means “breeding farm of the trees”, paid homage to the strong influence of French bloodlines on our horses.  Over the past decade, we recognized that the thriving Quarter Horse reining industry presented us with improved opportunities to breed and sell quality horses, and therefore, we expanded our breeding program to include Quarter Horses as well.

Our Trainers

Our in-house training is provided by Nathan Kent and his assitant, Kristi Vincent. Nathan was raised on a horse ranch in Eastern Idaho and worked with Kim Wagner and Annie Reynolds-Jones for several years. Please visit his website for more information about his training experience and accomplishments.

Our Horses

Over the past decade, we have worked hard to provide excellence in our breeding and training programs. Our horses come from some of the finest reining bloodlines available, including Very Smart Remedy, Electric Code, Wimpyneedsacoctail and Jerry Lee Surprise.
